William Hewko Obituary, William Hewko Has Passed Away – Death

William Hewko Death, Obituary – William E. Hewko, who was 84 years old at the time of his death on February 1, 2023, passed away at Quality Life Services in New Castle. He lived in Harmony for the majority of his life. On June 8, 1938, he was born in Conway, Pennsylvania. His parents, Walter Hewko and Lucille Wetter Hewko, had passed away before his birth. He was their son. He gave honorable service to his country while serving in the Army of the United States.

Bill attended Freedom High School and graduated with his high school diploma. After completing his education at Geneva College, Westminster College, and Youngstown State University, he was awarded a principal’s certificate as well as a superintendent’s certificate. In addition to that, he held the credential for his school’s principal.
Bill spent his whole career as an educator at two different high schools, Freedom High School and Shaler High School, where he held the position of principal for a combined total of 46 years.

In the year 2000, he severed relations with Class Academy in order to take on administrative roles at Longmore Academy, which was a component of the Mars Home for Young People. He was a member of the Cranberry Rotary Club for his whole life and even held the presidency of the organization at one point. During the time that he served as president of the club, he was presented with the very first Platinum Award.

In addition to that, he was one of the founder members of the Cranberry Sunrise Rotary Club. In addition to having served in the past as a board member for the Cranberry Parks and Recreation Department, he was also inducted into the Freedom Area Sports Hall of Fame as well as the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame.
He was married to Sandra Cohen Hewko for 32 years; he was the father of John Hewko, Lynn Hewko Caffro, and Alexis Rae Hewko (who unfortunately passed away); and he was the grandfather of William and Megan Hewko. He was also the spouse of Sandra Cohen Hewko. His union to Sandra Cohen Hewko lasted for a full three decades.
