Trey Thomas Obituary, Death – We have suffered a great loss with the passing of one of the most skilled, compassionate, and talented surgeons that I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
Dr. Trey Thomas will be remembered for a great many things throughout all of eternity, such as his joyful “Good Morning” to each of us, his love of Shania Twain, Alan Jackson’s gospel music, Zac Brown band, and a great many other things. He will also be remembered for a great many other things.
I for one am going to miss hearing him sing while he’s under the influence of anaesthetic. He had a beautiful singing voice and could harmonize with the very finest there was! He was constantly concerned about not only his own well-being but also the well-being of his colleagues. Because of the way his shoes “flop,” I won’t be able to tell where he is, and I’m going to miss that opportunity. His, “Have I done everything I was supposed to…?”…”saaavv”…”lube up”, etc… His, “Have I done everything I was supposed to…?” His, “Have I done everything I was expected to…?” was the question.
Yesterday, while Dr. Thomas was enjoying a restful afternoon nap before going into the evening, he peacefully transitioned into eternity. The absolute embodiment of what it means to be blessed.
When the allotted time has passed here, each of us will move forward with the modification that was discussed. One simple beat of our hearts is all that stands between each one of us and eternity. My question is, do you think that we are ready to move forward? Have you put your hope and salvation in Jesus, the Son of God? I have. Will Jesus say something along the effect of “Well done” to us? In my experience, I have never found that to be the case!! I have been given one additional day to make amends for my poor performance on the prior day.
Dr. Thomas, you are going to be sorely missed by many people!
