Phyllis Trusler Death, Obituary – She was born in DeQueen, Arkansas on June 22, 1938 and her parents were Barney and Elizabeth (Crowder) Matthews. Her birthday was June 22. Her father’s name was Barney, and her mother’s name was Elizabeth. She wed Gerald “Jerry” Trusler on May 12, 1956 in Los Angeles, California, and the ceremony took place in California. On May 27, 2016, he went away, having died a few days earlier than she did.
She is survived by her three sons, Jon Mark Trusler of Terre Haute, IN, Anthony Lee Trusler and his wife Paula of Bowling Green, IN, and Truet Trusler and his wife Dawn of Winchester; a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren who were very important to both her and Grandpa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren who were very important to her and Grandpa. Rod Trusler, who was she and her husband’s only son, passed away before she did (surviving wife, Marlene). Mrs. Trusler received her diploma from Citrus Union High School in Azusa, California, in the year 1956. She attended that school. In 1986, when Jerry began working at Capitol Records, Phyllis and Jerry uprooted their life and moved to Jacksonville.
Jerry had just recently started working there. She counted herself incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to witness such a large number of God’s bountiful gifts while she was on her travels with Jerry, whom she found to be an excellent traveling companion. She attributed her good fortune to the fact that she was able to do so while she was traveling with Jerry.
She was a lifelong member of the Jacksonville Church of Christ and attended services there regularly. In particular, she looked forward to spending time with her friends and family as well as her colleagues. Funeral services will be held in remembrance of the departed individual on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at ten o’clock in the morning at the Jacksonville site of Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home. On Tuesday, between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 PM, the family will have a gathering for friends at the funeral home.
