Olga Katchan Obituary, Death  –  Olga Katchan Although we are saddened by Olga Katchan’s departure, we do so with the knowledge that she is finally at peace in the presence of the Lord. The contributions that Olga and her family made to the development of our church, which they helped to found, are very much appreciated. A lady who has a strong commitment to serving her country and a genuine faith in the divine.

Pochayiv, which is the city in which he was born on July 24th, 1928 (Volyn) She is widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable individuals in the Pochayiv Lavra monastery, and she has made a significant contribution to the writing of a book that provides a comprehensive account of the history of this important spiritual gem in Ukraine.

Olga was a devout Christian who was a hard worker, a deep thinker, and who spent her later years in Perth with her family. She was known for her deep thinking. She spent several years working at the University of Sydney as a lecturer in the field of psychology, during which time she also taught there. Her contributions to the Ukrainian community in Australia and the Australian community, in general, are so substantial that it would take an entire page to detail them all. A life that was lived for the benefit of others, which gives it meaning and purpose.

Her loyal son George and daughter-in-law Gian, as well as her dedicated grandchildren and great-grandchild, with whom she was able to spend valuable time, are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Our warmest condolences go out to them. Funeral services for Olga will be held at our Church on Friday, February 10, beginning at 9:30 in the morning. Olga passed away on February 6. After this, the final rites of burial will take place at 11.30 in the morning in the Rookwood cemetery.
