Kurt Gulbrand Obituary, Death – On January 31, 2023, at the age of 53, Kurt Jon Gulbrand, who had been serving at the University of Tennessee as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement, was taken unexpectedly from this world. His devoted wife Deborah, his two sons, Colton Karl (age 17) and Bryce Edward (age 16), his mother Carol Mae, his father the late Karl Arne, his brother the late Eric Todd, his mother-in-law Judge Dee Ann Hawthorne, and his father-in-law Harry Edward Hawthorne are among the people he leaves behind.

He is also survived by his mother Carol Mae, his father the late Karl Arne, and his brother the late In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Judge Dee Ann Hawthorne, and his father-in-law, Harry Edward. Family members who are still living to mourn his passing include his brother-in-law Scott Hawthorne (his son Jonathan and his fiancée, Katie), his brother-in-law Dr. Harry Hawthorne and his wife Cynthia (their children Danielle, Courtney, and Samantha).

His cousin Lauren Gulbrand (her children Quinn and Emerson), his cousin Kyle Gulbrand, who passed away prior to his passing, as well as his Aunt Kristin Paules, Uncle Jim Paule (their children Ryan and Kristin). On Friday, February 3, 2023, between the hours of 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm, friends and family are invited to attend a viewing of the deceased at the Click Funeral Home, which is situated at 9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37923.

The viewing will take place on the same day. We would be delighted to have you join us for this special occasion. A funeral service will also be held the day after the wake, which is scheduled for Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm and will take place at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church located at 711 S. Northshore Drive. The wake will take place the day before the funeral service.
