Karen Coners Death Obituary – The day that just passed was a very challenging one. Our hearts are shattered because Joe’s mom, our beloved mother-in-law, Karen Coners, went away unexpectedly in her sleep in the early morning hours, and we are devastated by this news.

Heaven has most certainly gained one of the very greatest. Karen was a compassionate, loving, caring, and selfless person. She was wickedly intelligent and has a charmingly acerbic sense of humor (now you know where Joe gets it). Karen was the kind of genuinely nice person who was impossible not to fall in love with.

When we would go to see her and take her for a drive in the country, she always looked forward to our visits. She enjoyed activities such as gardening, reading, knitting and crocheting, drawing and painting, doing puzzles like Sudoku, and using her Rubik’s Cube. We remember that when I first met her in 2004, she was obviously not a person who liked to give or receive hugs.

But the last time we saw her, a few weekends ago, she was the one who immediately went for a hug and professed her love for us. She also informed us that she had missed us. She had five children, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply.

We would want to express our gratitude to Karen for the great upbringing she provided for the guy we have the privilege of calling our husband. You did a wonderful job raising him and the rest of your children, and we are extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to call you my mother-in-law. We are going to miss you very much, and I will hold on to the memories I have of you always and forever.
