John Funk Obituary, Death –  On May 13, 1934, in Winchester, Virginia, John Lee Funk was born to his parents, Dorsey Marcus Funk and Rebecca Lupton Funk. James Wood High School was his alma mater, and he graduated with honors. On Sunday, November 27, 2022, he left this world very calmly at his house, where he had lived all of his life. Anyone who was familiar with John was aware of how deeply he cherished the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge mountains in the state of Virginia.

His location shifted after he made friends with Helen Jo Eubanks, a student at Harding University who was the daughter of a dairy farmer. Helen came to have a deep affection and respect for Virginia, despite the fact that she and her family had relocated in Arkansas. John worked at Emerson Electric as a quality control supervisor for the entirety of his 44-year tenure there. He appreciated the individuals he worked with as much as his job.

John and Helen have an extremely strong bond. They enjoyed spending time together most of all, as well as traveling, reading, and working in the garden. John was left with a significant void after Helen passed away in February of 2012; however, he made a conscious effort to keep himself busy after her passing by tending to his yard, going to the library, doing woodwork, going on excursions with JoAnna, and always being willing to lend a helping hand.
