Jimmy Williams Death, Obituary – Jimmy Ralph Williams, who was 77 years old at the time of his death, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Baptist Memorial in Jackson, Mississippi. He was surrounded by his family. On June 17, 1945, he was born to his parents, George Washington Williams and Annie Holloway Williams.
Jimmy had spent his entire life in the town of Eupora. He had a deep passion for the great outdoors and fishing in particular. Cooking was one of his favorite activities, as was spending time with his grandchildren and other members of his family, as well as conversing with friends and acquaintances.
His family will remember him most as being a caregiver to all. After a total of 33 years of service in the United States Army, Jimmy retired from the military at the rank of Staff Sargent. He served two tours, one in Vietnam and one in Iraq, where his son travelled with him. He was quite involved at the Montevista Baptist Church where he attended services.
He is survived by his wife, Myra L. Williams of Eupora, Mississippi; one son, Lamar Williams (Patti) of Calhoun City, Mississippi; one daughter, Nichole Williams of Eupora, Mississippi; one brother, Howard Williams of Louin, Mississippi; eight granddaughters; and ten great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Annie Holloway Williams; five brothers, Robert Williams, George Lee Williams, James Williams, Frank Williams, and Ed Williams; and two sisters, Lucy Cooper and Virgie Wilkerson.
The funeral services for Jimmy Ralph Williams will be performed at Montevista Baptist Church in the Montevista Community on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 1 pm.
On Monday, February 6, 2023, from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening, guests are welcome to pay their respects at the Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Burial will follow at Montevista Baptist Church Cemetery. Both Brother Tim Hudson and Brother Howard Rodgers will preside over the services as the ministers. Brandon Baggett, Cory Baggett, Sherman Brown, Cody Smith, Ken Smith, and Bubba Wright will serve as the pallbearers for this event. These individuals have been selected to serve as honorary bearers of the casket: Tyler Brown, Tanner Brown, Jacob Williams, Bobby Helms, and Davey Williams. All of the arrangements are being handled by the Wise Reed Funeral Home.
