Gary Jurgella Obituary, Death –  Gary Leonard Jurgella, a resident of Mosinee, Wisconsin, passed away at the age of 70 on Monday,  at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Gary Jurgella was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, on December 7th, 1950 to his late parents, Leonard and Violet (Okray) Jurgella. At a ceremony held on October 24, 1987 in Plover, Gary wed Karen (Pecha).

When Gary was serving as Vice President at Associated Bank (which had previously been known as First Financial), he was introduced to Karen. After retiring from Associated Bank, he continued to keep himself active by working for Ready Rental and Standard Electric for a number of years after his retirement. Gary was an active participant in the YMCA, in addition to the Elks Club and the Lake Dubay Home Owners Association.

Gary had a deep love for adventure and exploration, and he was especially fond of Jamaica. He and Karen went on vacation every other year, and their favorite destinations were California, Florida, and the Caribbean. In 2007, Gary and Karen built their ideal home on Lake Dubay, and ever since then, they have been thoroughly enjoying the “lake life.” Gary was an enthusiastic cook who also enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He hosted countless Packer parties, summer get-togethers for friends, and parties for his grandkids.

He had a lot of hobbies that he enjoyed, such as going to the Y with his buddies to work out, playing cribbage, taking care of his immaculate lawn, and pontooning around the lake while flying the Jamaican flag. Everyone who knew Gary will miss him for the ways in which he enjoyed drinking, joking about with friends, and enthusiastically talking politics or sports.

Gary is survived by Karen, his wife of 34 years and his best friend, as well as his son Nick (Sarah) Jurgella of Stevens Point, his daughter Jill (Trent) Dudei of Mosinee, his grandchildren Matthew and Brett Dudei, Emily and Hannah Trzinski, and his brothers Mark (Patti) Jurgella and Ron Jurgella, both of Stevens Point. Gary is also survived by his brothers Mark (Patti) Jurgella and Ron Jurgella, both of His sister, Barbara Werth, who lives in Sun Prairie; his brother-in-law, Tom Pecha, who lives in Mosinee with his wife Sandra; and a large number of other relatives, acquaintances, and extended family members.

His mother and father, as well as his sister Nanci (Manuel) Jurgella Mayer, passed away before Gary.
