Colorado Springs Shooting; Triple-shooting victim east of downtown Colorado Springs identified
COLORADO SPRINGS – The report that three people were shot outside of a strip mall near the intersection of Circle and Airport has been confirmed to me by the Colorado Springs Police Department. The intersection in question is where Circle and Airport connect. When the police got at the scene, they found one individual who had already passed away in addition to two people who were hurt. This is what I’ve been told by the police. They were the first ones to pick up the phone and answer it. The police in Colorado Springs have identified the victim of a shooting that occurred over the weekend in front of a strip mall located east of the city’s central business district.
After receiving information that someone had fired a gun in the wee hours of the 17th of December, law enforcement authorities rushed to the location, which they described as an illegal after-hours nightclub. After they arrived, they found that there were already three victims at the scene. close to 0:30 GMT. At this time, there is no information that can be provided regarding a possible suspect. The Homicide Unit is currently present at the scene, where they are maintaining their presence and carrying on with their investigation. When new information becomes available, we will keep you informed as soon as it is accessible.
Following the completion of an autopsy on Monday, the Colorado Springs Police Department was able to positively identify the individual who had passed away as 42-year-old Elijah Beatty. Following the murder of Beatty, the overall number of homicides in the city for the year 2022 has reached 51, representing an increase of eight above the previous high of 43, which was set in 2021.
