Charlie Sorenson Death, Obituary – We regret to inform you of the demise of Charlie Sorenson, who served as our past president and was a life member of our organization. In the coming days, we will make announcements regarding the specifics of the services.
After attending Dallastown High School and graduating from Penn State University with a summa cum laude, Quin attended Dickinson Law School and received his law degree in 2003.
During his time at Dickinson Law School, he graduated first in his class and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Dickinson Law Review. After graduating from Dallastown High School, Quin attended Penn State University and received a summa cum laude. First working for the Honorable Christopher C. Conner, District Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, then moving on to work for the Honorable D. Michael Fisher, Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Quin began his career as an attorney by serving as a judicial law clerk.
After completing his clerkships, Quin went on to work in the Supreme Court and Appellate Practice Group of the international law firm Sidley Austin LLP in Washington, District of Columbia. After only another five years, Sidley Austin decided to make Quin a partner in the firm. During his career at Sidley, Quin was the author of hundreds of briefs that were submitted to lower and higher courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States.
After working in corporate law for a number of years and representing some of the largest international corporations as well as a large number of low-income clients pro bono, Quin made the decision to leave corporate law and move back to the Gettysburg area to be closer to his family and the family farm near Fairfield, Pennsylvania. Quin made the decision to devote his excellent legal talents to the service of the people.
After completing his education in 2018, he was hired by the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania to work in the Appellate Unit. The tremendous intelligence of Quin, along with his unparalleled work ethic, solidified his position as the foremost appellate counsel in the industry. Quin was a man of many talents and had a wide range of interests in addition to being a true gentleman lawyer. In your prayers, please remember to keep Charlie’s family and friends in your thoughts.
