Calvin Martin Obituary, Death – Calvin Okey Martin, a devout servant of God who lived in Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away on January 31, 2023 at the age of 85 in the comfort of his own home. He was a resident of West Virginia. In Parkersburg, West Virginia, on May 2, 1937, he was born to Okey Martin and Elba Simmons, both of whom had passed away prior to his birth. He was the son of Okey Martin and Elba Simmons.
Calvin was a devoted member of the congregation and actively participated in the life of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ. He resigned from his position at Corning Glass in order to pursue retirement. Calvin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and taking part in other activities that took place outside. Due to the fact that he cherished the time he was able to spend with his loved ones, he will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
Those who are still alive to carry on his legacy include his wife, Jean Martin; his son, Kevin Martin, who is married to Kathy and lives in Washington, West Virginia; his grandchildren, Josh Martin and Cami Smith, who are married to Josh and Rachel; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evie, Kendall, Charlee, and Georgia. His brothers Harry Martin and Harold Martin and his sisters Garnet, Eleanor, Betty, and Beulah Martin all passed away before him. Everyone else in his family had already passed away by the time he was born. On the Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 1 PM, funeral services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Rick Stanley serving as the officiant. The burial will take place at Evergreen South Cemetery immediately following the funeral services. On the day of the funeral service, the funeral home will be open for visitation beginning at eleven in the morning and continuing until one in the afternoon.
