Bill Edwards Death, Obituary – We are saddened to inform you that Bill Edwards passed away just a few moments ago. It is with a heavy heart that we do so. Our sincerest condolences go out to Bill’s family, friends, and anybody else who knew and cared about him in addition to everyone else who knew and cared about him. May you rest in peace, Bill, with the knowledge that many people will think fondly of you in the years to come.
He attended Union County High School and graduated in the class of 1989. Bill was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1991 through 2006, during which time he fought valiantly in battle and defended our country. Before he was discharged from the military with honor, he was presented with a variety of medals and ribbons, including the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, in honour of his service in Iraq. In addition, he received an honorable discharge.
Both William’s daughter Charli Ann Edwards and one of his nephews, Ian Connor Arwood, passed away before him. William was the last of his family members to pass away. William’s siblings passed away before him, joining his parents as those who came before him in death Dolores “Dee” Edwards, his soulmate of thirty-five years, his sons Matthew Jared Edwards and Lynn Breon and wife, Colleen, and his daughter Jennifer Abril; his grandchildren Earl Marion Edwards,
Joseph William Edwards, Jared Matthew Edwards, Richard D.S. Laughren, Jessica R.A. Laughren, Adam, Connor, and Elijah Lee; and his siblings John Edwards, Janet Edwards, and Margaret “Magi” Edward Bill’s grandchildren referred to their grandfather with the endearing nickname “Pappa Gooney Bird!” He had a large number of friends, and all of them had affection for him. Oorah, continue to fight the good fight, and may the winds and seas always be in your favor! Bill was an outstanding member of the Marine Corps.
